No run option when downloading file

Wilders Security Forums. Joined: Jan 25, Posts: 8, I just downloaded an installer using IE, and when I clicked on the download link, I was given no Run option. Is this a standard feature of IE 11? Is there anyway to enable the Run option again? I like the Run option for when I'm downloading software and don't want to keep the installer. Since I never do any scanning of my downloads before opening them, I have no need for a download to be saved in my Downloads folder, unless I want to keep the installer for reinstalling it later.

I downloaded another exe file, and the Run option was there, so it was a case of IE not liking the file I was trying to download. I also got the message "This type of file could harm your computer. However, once the file was downloaded, the Run option was there, so it seems rather stupid to not have the run option when download, and it to appear when the download is completed.

IE11 still even in compatibility has quite a lot of outstanding issues, exacerbated by older applications that barely work with IE10, not all companies have the money or staff to develop their applications to work with the latest and greatest so this has to be considered.
