Steam wont stop downloading game files for

I am having the same problem. Reinstall steam. Roo View Profile View Posts. Having the same issue now. It was working fine until the Creator's update dropped. I've reinstalled steam, but it opens and for a split second it shows the login page. Then closes straight away after. How did you fix it! I don't know if this is the same problem as you guys, but I just had this problem.

I did two things and I'm not sure if one or both did it. First, I set the Steam exe file to run in Compatibility Mode. You right click the file, click Properties, then Compatibility, and make sure that the Compatibility box I forget exactly what it says is checked. That didn't get it to load by itself. This solution works for every game on Steam: Go to your library, right click on the game you're downloading and want to remove and select "Delete local content".
